Pamlico Executive Advisory Board – In this role Mike has worked closely with Pamlico Capital team members on improving performance of existing portfolio companies as well as pursuing new investment opportunities. Pamlico is a highly successful growth equity fund, which partners with mid-market firms typically raising their first round of institutional capital. Mike’s expertise in driving commercial sales and running recurring revenue based companies are leveraged in this capacity. Bandwidth Infrastructure Group (BIG) – BIG is a high fiber count data center to data center fiber provider operating in the Northern California and Greater Atlanta markets. Founded by Telecom entrepreneur Bill Cook and PE firm Columbia Capital, BIG provides the high capacity conduits and fiber needed by the hyperscaler community. Vast Broadband / Vexus Fiber – Mike started out in 2017 as a BOD member supporting Pamlico entrepreneurs Jim Gleason, Larry Eby and Keith Davidson at Vast Broadband which was a Dakotas based cable broadband provider. The cable assets were eventually sold and the entity became Vexus Fiber upon the purchase of west Texas based NTS’s fiber to the home (FTTH) assets in 2019. Mike then served as VP of Business Development for Vexus, acquiring new geography for FTTH expansion in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Arizona. Vexus Fiber was sold to Metronet in 2022 netting Pamlico exceptional returns. https://www.vexusfiber.com

Rollins College Center for Advance Entrepreneurship – Mike served as BOD Chair for the Entrepreneurship Center of Excellence associated with the Rollins Crummer School of Business, one of the top MBA programs in the Southeast. Mike helped plan and fund the popular Rollins Venture Plan Competition and taught in the Rollins Business Accelerator and associated workshops. www.rollins.edu

VRI – Mike served on the board of this Pamlico backed healthcare focused technology company that provides remote monitoring and vitals collection. VRI was an industry leader that helps both seniors and chronically ill patients achieve positive outcomes. VRI was sold to Modivcare in 2022. https://vricares.com

Hosting.com – Mike served as Executive BOD chair for this Pamlico backed data center and managed services firm based in Denver Colorado from March 2016 to January 2019. Mike provided Executive Team leadership and focused on operational improvement, including churn mitigation and customer intimacy efforts. Mike helped execute a successful merger and dividend recap of Hosting and Hostway Corporation, which closed at year end 2019. https://hostway.com/hostway-hosting-merger/

IBBS/Momentum Telecom – Mike served as CEO of Pamlico backed IBBS and merged that entity into Momentum Telecom where he continued serving on the BOD for several years. https://www.bizjournals.com/birmingham/news/2014/01/08/momentum-mergers-with-ibbs.html. Mike helped ease the transition and integration of the two companies, which created a high growth unified communications and VOIP industry leader. C&D Technologies – Mike served on the C&D Technologies BOD from 2011 to 2017, supporting an Angelo Gordon led recapitalization of the company. C&D is an iindustry leading backup power manufacturer with operations worldwide. Mike served on the independent BOD committee as part of the C&D go private transaction which allowed the company to complete its turnaround as a private entity. https://www.cdtechno.com

Nuvox Communications – Mike served on the Nuvox BOD starting in 2007 as a result of the acquisition of FDN Communications, where Mike was the founding CEO. Mike helped integration efforts, and also ran all sales and marketing at Nuvox, managing over 300 quota bearing sales representatives and $500M of annual revenue. FDN Communications – Mike served as BOD chairman and CEO of FDN Communications, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) which he founded with Telecom entrepreneurs Jim DaBramo, Ryan Hand and Matt Blocha in 1998. FDN experienced dramatic growth, starting at zero and reaching $175M in recurring revenue and 20% EBITDA margins prior to its 2007 sale to Nuvox Communications. Mike executed several rounds of private equity, working with MC Venture Partners, Columbia Capital and Centennial Ventures. Mike also raised three rounds of senior debt and purchased several Florida telecom assets.
